FRESH SQUEEZED! A Twin Team Mammogram-o-Rama

We believe strongly in helping to make healthcare accessible -- and, when at all possible, FUN.

Each year Jennifer & Katie go in for their annual mammograms together and share the experience to social media to encourage others to do the same, and to de-stigmatize the process. After receiving positive feedback from our community, we realized we could help EVEN MORE if we made this an event!

Introducing the first ever Twin Team Mammogram-O-Rama: Fresh Squeezed!

"Dottie", the OHSU Mobile Mammography Bus, will be on hand to provide FREE mammograms! Mobile mammograms are an amazing way for folks to save time during these busy days and take a moment to make their health a priority. We will also have fresh squeezed (get it?) lemonade along with other drinks and bites to enjoy! ALL genders are welcome -- and feel free to share this with anyone who may benefit, and come join us even if you don’t need the mammogram ;)

Details on how to sign up for an appointment will follow, so be sure to keep an eye on your inboxes and our social media for more!

Getting regular screening tests is the most reliable way to find breast cancer early. Routine annual screenings don't require a Primary Care Physician (PCP) medical order, however all patients that are examined must have a PCP to ensure proper follow-up if necessary and for results.

Most insurance providers cover yearly routine screenings, but it will be the patient’s responsibility to confirm their individual coverage parameters -- especially if requesting 3D imaging vs 2D imaging (this link explains details to 3D imaging if you're curious), as some insurance coverage may charge a small copay that the patient would be billed for choosing 3D. While they accept all insurance providers aside from Kaiser, we recommend contacting your insurance provider prior to scheduling a slot so there are no surprises afterward!

Other requirements for a routine screening mammogram:

  • Must be 35 or older (reminder to check with your insurance for coverage for years 35-39)

  • Must NOT be pregnant or have breastfed within the last 3 months

  • Must be 1 full year since your last mammogram

  • They are not a preferred provider by Kaiser insurance

  • No known breast pain, lumps, or discharge
