Giving Back in the Season of Gratitude
/The season of gratitude and giving is in full-swing – and while the holiday pace will soon be quickening, one great way to remain grounded and connected within our community is to give back. Here are a few ways that you can make an impact locally this season.
From “Giving Trees” that list toys and items needed for local children to animal shelters and everything in-between, there are so many great organizations in our area that could greatly benefit from your donations.
Meals on Wheels
For over 50 years, Meals on Wheels has been working to meet the social and nutritional needs of older adults. As a whole, the organization seeks to enrich the lives of seniors 60 years of age and older and assist them in maintaining independence by providing nutritious food, human connection and social support.
Oftentimes the meals brought by this organization are the only food that the recipient has that day and the volunteer driver is the only person they will see, so these interactions are important for many reasons.

Oregon Food Bank
Oregon Food Bank works to address the systemic and root causes of hunger in order to eliminate it and build a healthier, stronger and more connected community with access to nutritious food for all.
Through donations and an active volunteer-base, Oregon Food Bank is making a difference in the lives of countless members of our community, but more help is needed to continue making change.

One Tail at a Time PDX (OTAT PDX)
OTAT PDX is 501(c)(3) all-breed, no-kill, foster-based companion animal rescue based in Portland that seeks to improve the lives of companion animals by providing humane, individualized care and a chance to know the comforts of a loving home. They accomplish this through advocacy, education, and support of those in need - they also are one of our preferred nonprofits that we support each year.
Our Team is very much involved with OTAT (some of our four-legged family members are even OTAT alumni), and can attest to the wonderful work they do.
